General : AFOA Accepting Nominations for 2008 Excellence in Aboriginal Leadership Awards - Deadline Dec 15/07
Posted by admin on 2007/9/19 21:08:43 (1183 reads)

AFOA is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Xerox Canada-AFOA Canada Excellence in Aboriginal Leadership Awards. The Awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated commitment and leadership in financial management in Aboriginal communities and organizations.

There are two categories for nominations for the AFOA-Xerox Excellence in Leadership Awards. The National category recognizes individuals who have contributed to the Aboriginal financial management profession on a national or institutional level. The Regional category recognizes those individuals who have made their contributions at the regional, local or community level.

The Awards provides financial professionals with a “standard of excellence” to measure and recognize their achievements and contributions toward effective, well-managed and well-governed Aboriginal communities and organizations.

The 2007 Awards were presented at the National Conference in Vancouver in February to Chief Clarence Louie of Osoyoos Indian Band in British Columbia and Karen Bruno, Finance Administrator at Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba.
