In the fall of 2009 the two negotiators, Minnie Grey and Harry Tulugak, paid a visit to the Nunavimmiut post-secondary John Abbott students. After an enjoyable supper with the students, they gave a power point presentation on the latest developments of the Nunavik Regional Government negotiations.
The presentation informed the students on what has been worked on, gave them a history of the forty plus years of debate by the people of Nunavik, what is currently being done and what outcome is expected in the future. This presentation took a couple of hours.
There was a very good exchange of ideas with the students asking a lot of questions. The debate amongst the group showed the keen interest these students have for the issue of Nunavik Regional Government.
The negotiators also gave the students the most recent issue of the Nunavik newsletter, containing an overview of how the government and the electoral process under Nunavik Regional Government will work. The negotiators feel it is important to inform Nunavimmiut at large on what is going on with the Nunavik Regional Government file and thank the students for their interest and great reception.
